Neighborhood Concerns: A recipe for success

Here are some agency contacts, steps and guidelines on how to best eradicate and eliminate on-going concerns.

1. First call 311, get a service request number and the timeframe that concern will take to get addressed
2. If not addressed, please call the agency. Ask for the division that handles your concern, provide your service request number and
3. GET A CONTACT NAME, PLEASE.
4. Tell them the issue is still on-going and have not been addressed. Remember to follow-up.
5. If the concern is still not addressed and on-going;
6. Please call me with the service request number, name of the contact and division
7. To get the number to any department you can call 410-396-3100 which is the city general information line.
8. Let’s make it happen!!!

List of concerns that come up frequently

Housing

• Call 311 to report your concern
• If not addressed, call the Housing Inspections Office at 410-545-1851, tell them what neighborhood you live in and ask to speak to that housing inspector with your service request number ready in hand
• If the housing concern is way over due, please ask the Housing Inspector to refer to Property Management if cleaning or boarding is necessary
• Follow-up, follow-up, follow-up

Public Works (dirty alley, street, collection, etc)

• Call 311
• If not addressed call the SW yard at 410-396-3367/3369 with your service request number
• Ask for the supervisor for the area
  • Southern-Your Supervisor is Norris Cooking
  • Southwestern-Your supervisor is Dave Bryant
• Follow-up, follow-up, follow-up

Department of Transportation

• Call 311
• If not address call the general number at 410-396-6802, state your concern and ask for the division that handles your concern,
• Provide service request number and get contact name
• Follow-up, follow-up, follow-up

Police Department- Main number S-410-396-2499 SW-410-396-2488

• For emergencies call 911
• Non emergencies call 311
• For on-going concerns that need to be addressed, call the Police Neighborhood Service Division:
  • Team Southwest 410-362-8226
  • Team South 410-354-5169
